Background

About CJ Marshall

I’m Chelvis “CJ” Marshall, President of Marshall Solutions Group, a retired U.S. Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer, and a business leader whose experience spans complex engineering operations, organizational leadership, enterprise sales, and mergers and acquisitions. My career has been built around leading people, managing operational complexity, developing business, and delivering results in environments where execution matters.

I retired from the Navy after more than 12 years of service, advancing to Senior Chief in just 10 years. Aboard USS McCampbell (DDG-85), an approximately $1 billion guided-missile destroyer, I served as the ship’s senior enlisted engineering leader, known as the “Top Snipe.” I was accountable for a 137-person engineering department responsible for propulsion, electrical power, auxiliary systems, maintenance, and engineering readiness. I also served as the ship’s acting senior enlisted leader for a crew of more than 400. Those responsibilities required sound judgment, organizational discipline, and the ability to lead people through demanding operational environments.

My leadership foundation began as a hands-on engineering technician and developed through progressively greater responsibility. During my naval career, I received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for my actions during a major engineering fire aboard USS Hue City (CG-66). That experience reinforced principles that continue to guide my approach to leadership: understand the operation, prepare the team, manage risk, and remain accountable for the outcome.

Beyond military service, I’ve built a commercial career in enterprise account management, national account development, and complex sales within a Fortune 500 organization. I’ve generated more than $20 million in career sales and ranked first in Pacific Zone electrical sales in both 2024 and 2025. My work has involved developing new business, managing complex customer relationships, advising executive decision-makers, and advancing multimillion-dollar commercial opportunities.

My experience also extends into mergers and acquisitions through work with Northward Partners, supporting business development, capital-raising efforts, and acquisition due diligence. This exposure strengthened my understanding of how business owners and investors evaluate organizations, assess opportunities, and make decisions that influence long-term enterprise value.

I earned my undergraduate degree from Post University while serving on active duty, receiving recognition on the university’s Spring 2023 Provost’s List. I’m completing my MBA at Syracuse University’s Whitman School of Management, concentrating in Entrepreneurship and Marketing, with graduation anticipated in December 2026. My education complements an extensive technical foundation developed through Navy engineering and leadership training.

I also serve as President of War Paint Collective, continuing my commitment to service through organizational leadership and programs supporting military-connected communities. My professional relationships with business owners, executives, and accomplished leaders across industries have further broadened my perspective on leadership, performance, and long-term decision-making.

Today, through Marshall Solutions Group, I bring these experiences together to support founders, business owners, executive teams, and government organizations navigating growth, operational challenges, organizational change, and complex initiatives.

My approach is straightforward: understand the business, define the outcome, align the people and resources, and remain accountable through execution.
